Not that you really need an excuse to throw a party, but this fantastically fun and bright party theme will have you searching for one immediately! From the delicious food and drinks to the amazing decorations, a Mexican fiesta really has all the greatest elements to ensure you will have a brilliant event. Bright, eclectic and full of life, a fiesta party has so much energy and excitement – especially when you include a piñata and a few margaritas!
We often have clients asking us what they should do for their 30th, 40th, or 50th birthday parties. Unlike weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, etc, which can easily have a clear theme, birthdays can be more difficult to define. A Mexican fiesta party can apply to basically any situation worth celebrating, particularly a milestone birthday.
So here is some inspiration to help make your Mexican fiesta dreams a reality!
The best way to make an impact with your event is to style and decorate it in a way that strongly represents your theme. Styling is easiest when you approach it in layers – think about building your style up in different elements. For example, imagine what you can do with your tablecloth or table runner, then your plates and cutlery, then add your vases and centerpieces, your candles, and your flowers. All of these elements add up to create an amazing style, themed perfectly for your party, and all the little details will have a great impact on the guests. We love these bright, eclectic ideas to bring the Mexican theme to life.

Obviously one of the greatest things about a Mexican party theme is the delicious food that you can serve! To really make an impact (and minimise the amount of effort you have to go to – win win!), you could provide a burrito or taco bar for your guests to enjoy. We also love these amazing fiesta themed desserts: we’d love to devour a churro cupcake from Lady Behind the Curtain (who kindly provides her recipe) and the cleverly styled mini chocolate cake desserts from Crissy’s Crafts.
Of course you’ll need some fiesta-style drinks to complete your amazing Mexican theme, and you can’t go past Coronas, margaritas, tequila and maybe even some sangria… oh my gosh, can we come to your party?!
We love these styled drink bars that not only provide the essential alcoholic element to your event but also add to the amazing impact of your theme! (And we couldn’t go past the adorable Corona’s dressed up in ponchos! These sweet little costumes can be found at Party City.)
Happy fiesta! ♥
